“El Cucui” Jaime Jara (20-5) picked the right time to bring his A-Game to the cage.  Jara fought Giva Santana (12-1) a hard nosed undefeated Brazilian JJ fighter who was probably on track for a title fight. In the 1st round Santana was able to take Jara to the mat, but Jara was able to counter his movements and keep Santana from delivering any damage before escaping. Jara tried to keep the match on their feet, pounding on Santana with big lefts. Santana was able to open a large gash under the left eye of Jara, but Jara never stopped coming landing the bigger punches and winning by split decision. This was a huge win for Jara; Santana is a BJJ world champion that had never tasted defeat before this fight.
